Not all Therapists are Found in the Office

You might be surprised to learn that there is a whole field of therapy out there that makes use of gemstones. While it might seem that this is yet one more New Age fad, gemstone therapy is almost as old as the stones themselves.

Even in ancient times, folks believed that aquamarine placed in water would result in an elixir that could be good for the heart, liver, stomach, mouth and throat. These elixirs were also used as an antidote for poison.

Modern day gemstone therapist use similar aquamarine elixirs because they are calming effects, comparing their effectiveness to chamomile tea. So just what is an aquamarine elixir? Gemstone therapist believe that by soaking an aquamarine in pure, distilled water, the water will become energized and that this energized water, when drunk, can be transferred to the parts of the body in need of it. Part of this theory is based upon the believe that the eliminated water from the body will be replaces with the water from the aquamarine, and therein the healing begins. Many combine this water with other teas and extracts to get an even bigger boost.

But if you are not all that keen about dunking your aquamarine jewelry in a glass of water and then drinking it, without the jewelry, of course, you might feel more comfortable getting your gemstone buzz from simply wearing or holding the stones. Let’s suppose that you have been working a little too long hunched over that computer, so your back is killing you. If you have an aquamarine necklace handy, you might use it for relief from your pain. To do this, begin by boosting the healing power of your necklace by wrapping it into more than one circle. For the purpose of this treatment, let’s assume that your necklace is made up of a string of aquamarine stones and is not a single pendant. Place these circles of aquamarine over your aching muscles. According to gem therapists, the energy from the stones will take away the pain. Who knows? Maybe it is worth a try.
