Jewelry Bracelets and Children’s Safety
Our children are extremely vulnerable. In our times, they face danger not from wild animals or forces of nature but from seemingly harmless things, like bracelets. Drape a bracelet around a child’s wrist and at some point of time it is going to break, spilling out dozens of tiny parts that may cause choking. Another serious threat is unsafe levels of lead content in bracelets. Recently many manufacturers have recalled their bracelets after directives from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Children are more susceptible to lead poisoning as they tend to absorb lead more easily than adults do. Parents should exercise extreme caution while buying children’s jewelry and buy from reputable jewelry stores.
